Description

Mihimoana

Mihimoana is a half acre block situated high on the hill at Clifton overlooking the Estuary where we enjoy some of the most stunning sunsets imaginable. It has been divided into three individal blocks. Our garden has been inspired and created as a "Garden of Rememberance" to commemorate our son who lost his life during the Earthquake in Christchurch within the collapsed CTV building. Tragically he was one of four people who was never identified. So this has become a magical place for us where we can be at peace with nature, and remember him. As you walk the pathway you will come across a variety of plants, Hebe, Pittosporum, Manuka, Grasses, Rhododendrons, Camelia, roses, a lot of our plants have been gifted to us from friends and neighbours, and you maybe lucky to see our native feathered friends paying us a visit Bellbird, Tui and Fantail. We have created some wonderful creations like the Pergola, Fernary and Water Feature, Wishing well and birdhouse to add colour and variety to the garden. Our property is designed for easy wheel chair accessability, with wide graveled walk ways to make it easier to get around. We have built a large pond with flowing water and native plants surrounding it. Sit on the seat and contemplate the tranquility of this area.
